Tools for Self-Advocacy

The key to having a positive and empowered birthing experience is understanding the process, being armed with knowledge, knowing your rights, and knowing what you want.

In the end, it matters far less whether you end up with your ideal birth or Plan C; women report more positive feelings about their birth experiences when they have felt knowledgeable and involved in the process that is happening to their body and their baby - regardless of how their baby ended up arriving earth-side!

This Self-Advocacy Toolkit gives you the up-to-date, evidence-based knowledge you need in a way that’s easy to understand, with links to further reading and research for those who want them.

This toolkit is a working document of research and evidence. It is regularly updated, however if you feel there is something current I have missed please signpost me to that information’s reliable source so it can be added.

If you have a query not covered, please contact me; I will provide signposting & support for your situation and add it to the toolkit for future use.
